On-Demand: Metal Binder Jetting: Sintering

Video Transcript with Timestamps

Chapter 1: Sinter Shrinkage

0:00
It is ready for sintering.

0:12
An important consideration in metal binder jet design is sinter shrinkage. As you can see, the ready-to-sinter green part is roughly 20% larger than the sintered part.

0:20
This size change is similar to what is seen in metal injection molding.

0:26
For our sintering furnaces, we have the Elnik vacuum furnace we discussed earlier.

Chapter 2: Sintering Furnaces

0:37
For prototype and production development, we’ve been utilizing this furnace to test materials and benchmark sinter performance.

Chapter 3: High-Temperature Sintering

0:55
A key competency of DSB Technologies is high-temperature sintering. The furnace shown is on one of our press-sinter lines and provides a means to sinter at high temperatures in a continuous process.

1:04
We are looking to leverage our in-house experience and the largest capacity of high-temperature sintering in North America to industrialize the sintering of metal binder jet components.
